Multi-factor authentication (MFA) has been mandatory since 2025
Logging into FirstSpirit is only possible with active multi-factor authentication (MFA). This means that you must authenticate yourself each time you log in outside the ZUV network in order to log into FirstSpirit.
How to set up multi-factor authentication is described inthe service portal under Multi-factor authentication (MFA) (access-protected).

1. Log in with your LMU user account
- Enter the following URL in your browser: https://www.lmu.de/wcms
- Log in via Single Sign On (SSO) in the mask: To do this, click on the "Log in with LMU User Account" or "Automatic Login" button to log in.
- Your login details are your LMU user ID (without @lmu.de or @campus.lmu.de) and your corresponding password.
Please note that you may need to verify your email address when logging in for the first time. Detailed instructions can be found in the next section under Initial login.

2. Log in via LMU Single Sign-On
You will now be redirected to the LMU login page.
- Log in here with your usual LMU login details.
If you were previously logged in to another LMU service that uses LMU login with single sign-on, this page may not appear. - Then you authenticate yourself via multi-factor authentication.

3. Open the FirstSpirit project
Finally, you will be redirected to the FirstSpirit home page and logged into the system.
- To access ContentCreator, click on the button with the pencil icon on the left!
- You should now be able to select your project and access your usual website via the project overview page.

In some cases, you will need to verify your email address so that your LMU ID is linked to your FirstSpirit ID and you are granted full access rights to your website(s).
1. Log in with your LMU User Account
- Enter the following URL in your browser: https://www.lmu.de/wcms
- Click on the "Log in with LMU user account" button below the regular login interface to log in via single sign-on.

2. Log in via LMU Single Sign-On
You will now be redirected to the LMU login page.
- Log in here with your usual LMU login details.
If you were previously logged in to another LMU service that uses LMU login with single sign-on, this page may not appear.

3. Initiate Email Verification
You will now be redirected back to FirstSpirit and see the following dialog box
- Have a verification email sent to you now by clicking on the link in the text: "Click here"
Note: In some cases, the link is missing from the text, but an email will usually still be sent. Please check your inbox. - Then authenticate yourself using multi-factor authentication.
4. Confirm Email Verification
Now switch to the email account that is registered for your LMU ID. Your LMU ID will be provided again in the confirmation email.
- Click on the confirmation link "Link to confirm account linking."
- Your FirstSpirit account will now be linked to your LMU ID.

5. Open the FirstSpirit Project
You will now be redirected to the FirstSpirit home page and logged into the system.
- To access ContentCreator, click on the button with the pencil icon on the left!
- You should now be able to select your project and access your usual website via the project overview page.
Frequently Asked Questions
- You will usually receive access rights automatically when you create a new website.
- If you join the editorial team at a later date, your project administration or site coordination team will take care of assigning rights.
- If necessary, use the FirstSpirit Permission Form [DE].
- First, reset the login screen by clicking on the Crownpeak logo in the upper left corner.
- If no additional button for “Login with LMU User Account” or “Automatic Login” appears, you do not have FirstSpirit rights.
- Please use our Contact Form
- Click the button again to request the email.
- The email will be sent to the address stored in your LMU account. Check which email address this is and look in this mailbox.
Tip: You can see which email address is stored in your user account in the Serviceportal [DE] - Also check your junk/spam folder if you cannot find the email in your inbox!
You may not have received access rights yet. Please use our contact form.
- Check whether you have logged into the correct system. If necessary, open a new private window in your browser and enter www.lmu.de/wcms
- You can only access websites in FirstSpirit if your LMU ID is linked to your FirstSpirit ID.
- Therefore, please check whether you have completed the initial login with email verification (see Initial Login)
